Vocabulary day. The students will look up definitions of words pertaining to Egypt. We start Egypt next week.

In order to introduce the new unit on Egypt the students will be watching a movie. While watching the movie the students will be taking notes as they pertain to the 7 parts of a civilization.

Students are reviewing for a test today. Speaking of which there is a test on Mesopotamia tomorrow. This shouldn't be a surprise to the students but if it is they need not worry since all last week was prep for the test. I'm looking forward to good grades on the test tomorrow.

Today is the final work day for posters and speeches. The students will have their final posters done and will have started working on their speeches by the end of the hour. These speeches need to be memorized so that they can go in front of the students and give their speech. This will also help them with their test next week. (Wednesday ish)

More poster and presentation work. Students should be working on completing their rough drafts and getting ready for their final drafts today.

The students received their instructions for their project yesterday and spend about 15 minutes getting information. Today they are continuing the information gathering. Hopefully everyone finishes their info sheets and can move on to working on their rough draft posters.

This week is devoted to making posters about the 3 civilizations that we started talking about on Thursday and Friday. The students will be in pairs and then assigned a civilization. They then will look up the seven parts and make a poster describing it. Should be a good time.
