Today we talk about mummification.  Students will learn how and why mummies were created.  We are also going to pass out the pyramid project guidelines.

Day two of PTC.  We saw around 40 parents yesterday hopefully we will see around the same number today.  I look forward to seeing everyone here.

Cartouche day!  Students are starting class by taking a map quiz.  Following the quiz the students are making Egyptian Cartouches from Papyrus.  Should be fun.

Notes on the technology of Egypt.  We will talk about new advances in medicine and how the Egyptians built the pyramids.  We will also talk about the upcoming Pyramid project.

Bell-ringer:  What did Akenaten do?

Homework:  No worksheets but we do have a map quiz tomorrow.

Short week.  Students have a map quiz on Wednesday.  Today they are finishing notes on the government of Egypt.  We are covering why King Tut was not as great as we think and a little about some of the great Pharaohs.

Homework:  It's the Law!  worksheet.  Study for map quiz.

The students finished their maps yesterday and the best 11 are hanging in the room.  We also took some notes yesterday, so today we are continuing notes on government.

The students did not finish their posters yesterday so we will work on them a little bit this morning.  Following the map we are going to start notes on Egypt by talking about their geography.

Another fun-filled day of map making.  The students all worked hard yesterday to create their rough draft and today they will transfer that onto a large piece of butcher paper.  The best renditions of Egypt will go up on the board for Parent teacher conferences.

Tuesday

Yesterday I had jury duty so we had a sub in class.  They worked on the food supply of Egypt.  The students also got their Mesopotamia tests back to make test corrections.  I can not take any corrections later than Wednesday.

Today the students are starting on a map of Egypt.  They will be able to work in partners  and by the end of class tomorrow they will have completed a large poster of Egypt.
