We played Basketball Review today. The students formed teams and then played again each other to see which team would score the most points.
Bell-ringer: What are the 5 themes of Geography? Homework: Study for Test. Test on Wednesday! The students are preparing for their test by completing a study guide with all of the relevant information on it. This will be their homework tonight and their study material tomorrow.
Bell-ringer: List one important achievement from each of the civilizations we heard about on Friday. Homework: Finish the study guide and organize your binder. Test on Wednesday. Presentation day! The students presented their posters. We had a short day because of our reward movie, we watched "The Princess Bride."
No bell-ringer. No homework. Day three of "Project: Informative posters and other such things." Students are finishing their rough draft poster and once I see it they receive their final poster to be finished in class today.
Bell-ringer: none No homework. Day two of "So you want to make a poster that represents the Mesopotamian Civilization while focusing on one specific kingdom, project." Students are making their rough drafts of their posters.
Bell-ringer: How long ago did Sargon overthrow the Sumerians? No homework. First day of the project. The students are researching four different Mesopotamian city-states. The students are listing the seven components of a civilization along with a map of the city-state. They will be presenting their poster on Friday.
Today is just the day of research. Bell-ringer: Who was the king of Uruk? When did he rule? No homework. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We covered primary and secondary sources today. We went over many, many examples and hopefully that helps with an upcoming project on Egypt, look for it in a few weeks. The students took a group quiz and then received a homework assignment.
Bell-ringer: How many years passed between the Sumerians arriving in Mesopotamia and the Assyrians controlling all of Mesopotamia? The students received a timeline with their bell-ringer sheet this week. Homework: Primary and Secondary sources worksheet. |
