We did a simulation today on the trading and reason why there was so much fighting in Greece. The students were required to obtain farmland and trade for goods. Also I passed out the Greek god or goddess wanted poster. These posters are due on Friday.

Yesterday we started Greece by talking about the geography and some of the challenges that faced the people living there. Today the students are making a map of the region so they can get an idea of what Greece looked like. Also I will be sharing the myth of Icarus and Daedalus with them.

GREECE! We are starting a new unit on Greece today. We will start with the basics today, geography and food supply. Following that I will read a few short myths just to get the kiddos engaged.

We are playing basketball review today. Last test I tried something a little different to get the students ready for the test and although they did well they wanted to go back to a review game. (of course they did) So today we are back at it.

We are watching a movie today on the Culture of China. While watching the movie the students will be writing examples of the seven characteristics of a civilization.

I had some teacher training today so the students had a substitute. They worked on a timeline and had a timeline worksheet for homework.

We finish notes today. The students are learning about the art and social structure of China today. Following that we will read a short piece on the art of China and then we work on homework.

Map quiz today. We have a short day, apparently teachers need a few hours to develop every so often, who knew? I hope everyone has a great three day weekend we will be finishing up China next week and testing the following Tuesday.
