See yesterday.

We are done with India so this week is make ups and re-dos.  While the students work on things they are missing we will be watching a movie on India.

No bell-ringer or Homework, that would just me too mean.

Basketball review day.  We will take the first few minutes of class to go over the study guide from yesterday and then it is off to the game.

Bell-ringer:  Where is India located?

Homework:  Study and organize folder.

Study guide day.  Students will have the hour to complete a study guide using their notes, homework and book.  

Bell-ringer:  What is the written language of India?

Homework:  work on notebook checklist and study.

We are finishing notes on India today.  The students will be learning about the Social Structure and written language of India.  

Bell-ringer:  Why did the lower class people in India become Buddhists?

Homework:  Study for test on Friday.

Today we expound on the Venn Diagram from Friday.  The students will be taking notes on Hinduism and Buddhism today.  

Bell-ringer:  Which religion in India came first?

Homework:  Start looking over notes, test on Friday.

Map quiz today.  Since today is a short day, we have a guest speaker, following the quiz we are going to fill out a Venn diagram on the similarities and differences between Buddhism and Hinduism.

Bell-ringer:  Why did Buddhism start?

Homework:  None.

We are finishing up notes on the government of India today and then going into religion.  The students are going to look at two magazine articles on Hinduism and Buddhism.  While they are reading they are going to be looking for important information and then citing the source.  

Bell-ringer:  What do you know about the Maurya Empire?

Homework:  Study for map quiz.

We hit the ground running today because of the day off yesterday.  Students took notes on the Government of India this morning.  Make sure you ask them who Ashoka was.  

Bell-ringer:   What are two of the Harappan arts?

Homework:  Study for map quiz on Friday and Empires in India.

We are taking a  few notes on the Art of India.  

Bell-ringer:  List three ways that Indian cities were well planned.

Homework:  Study map.
