Since we finished Egyptian Religion yesterday we are starting their Social Structure today.  Students are completing a social pyramid and drawing pictures.  Students are also learning about the marriage practices of Egypt.

We are finishing Egyptian mythology today.  Students learned about the symbols of Egypt and some of the gods and goddesses.  Today they will finish learning about them. 

Bell-ringer:  Name three symbols of Egypt and tell me what they were symbols of.

Students will continue learning about Egyptian gods and goddesses.  There will be a short presentation on each god and goddess.  Following that we will play the memory game, students are getting fairly into the game. 

Bell-ringer:  What was the purpose of mummification?

Homework:  New map for Southern Africa.  Test will be Nov. 19.  Also continue working on your pyramid project.

Happy Friday!  Hopefully your student has told you about the Pyramid Project.  If not here is a quick update.  Projects are due November 19th and can be built from any building material.  If you have any specific questions feel free to email me.
In class today, the students are learning about the Egyptian gods and goddesses.  Students will be playing a memory game with flash cards depicting the god and their description.  Should prove to be fairly entertaining.

Bell-ringer:  What is a person's Ka and Ba?

Homework:  Work on your pyramid project.

Today should be fun, well more fun than normal.  Students are learning about mummification.  They will also be introduced to the Egyptian gods and goddesses.

Homework:  Great gods and goddesses.

We finished notes on Egyptian Government today with a short discussion on King Tut.  Students took notes on Pharaohs of the New Kingdom and then were handed their "Pyramid Project" packet.  This project is Due November 19th. 

Bell-ringer:  What kingdom build the pyramids and what dynasty were they?

Homework:  Start looking at your project.

We are ramping up the notes yet again.  Students will be taking notes on the Government of Egypt.  This includes the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms.

We are watching a movie called Pyramids today.  The students are getting more of a background of Egyptian government and their social structure.  The students are also completing a worksheet about the movie while they watch.
